In 2011, the Rio Grande Valley witnessed a groundbreaking moment when professional MMA was brought to the region by Oscar Enriquez and Ultimate Warrior Fighting. By doing so, the sport was elevated to new heights and fighters were brought to fame.
Oscar Enriquez is a true pioneer of the fight game. He was the visionary behind establishing the first MMA Promotion in the Rio Grande Valley. Some of the biggest stars in the MMA have fought with UWF; such as Roger “The Matador” Huerta, The War Machine, Rey “The Judge” Rodriguez, and Carlos Diego Ferreira. Ultimate Warrior Fighting has one goal; to take the RGV’s MMA scene to new heights.
